Sheikh Ameen Abdul Awal Wal Akkir Sheikh Ameen Abdul Awal Wal Akkir is a teacher of Islamic Jurisprudence for over 35 years and a current teacher of Imam Malik's school of thought at the Islamic Cultural Center.  Sheikh Ameen is the founder and CEO of the Islamic Educational Support Foundation which is an organization that services the community through education, social service, and crisis intervention in the New York City area.  He and the foundation's board of directors are currently working with the Islamic Cultural Center in obtaining jobs for the community and servicing the community by feeding and clothing the homeless.  The foundation has an on-going fundraising drive to sponsor the opening of an Islamic Academy for school age children from kindergarten through grade 12 in the borough of Manhattan in New York City.  

Sheikh Ameen is one of the very few authentic Islamic scholars of fiqh that Allah (swt) has blessed to be residing in the United States today.  Anyone who attends his lectures on Islamic jurisprudence will learn how to worship Allah and gain many other Islamic benefits.  Sheikh Ameen has an extraordinary grasp of the Mathab of Malik ibn Anas as taugaht by Dr. Sulaiman Donia.  Sheikh Ameen's teachers were his eminence Dr. Sulaiman Donia, the leading scholar of juridicial science in his time, former Chairman of Theology and Philosophy Department of Al-Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt, Sheikh Muhammad Abdul Fattah, Sheikh Yusef Quanie (professors of Al-Azhar) and Sheikh Muftia Albania.  He is the first African-American born scholar who has an Ijaza from Al-Azhar University.  He is also the first African-American authorized, sanctioned, and permitted to teach Islamic Law in America.

Upon getting to know Sheikh Ameen,  you will find that he is an honest trustworthy, fair, and compassionate with his dealings with the Muslims and non-Muslims in our community.  Sheikh Ameen is respected and recognized because of his servitude in the community.
